Nyro is a social running platform designed to help people discover runs, join clubs, and connect with local running communities.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Nyro mobile app, joinnyro.com, our landing pages, waitlists, ambassador applications, and related web-based services.

Some information is collected only through the website, such as waitlist submissions, ambassador applications, website analytics, referral information, and marketing attribution data.

We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of Nyro, and limited technical information required to operate the service.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • password credentials managed securely through our authentication provider
  • name, display name, or username

  • profile photo
  • bio or personal description
  • running preferences, goals, pace preferences, experience level, vibes, or similar profile information

Runs, Clubs, and Community Activity

When using Nyro, you may create or interact with:

  • runs you create
  • runs you join
  • clubs you create
  • clubs you join
  • invitations and membership requests
  • attendance or participation history
  • club information and club images
  • descriptions, notes, or other community content you submit
  • reports submitted about profiles, clubs, runs, or other content
  • user blocking preferences and moderation-related actions

Certain content may be visible to other users depending on the feature and privacy settings.

Device and Technical Information

To operate, secure, and improve Nyro, we may collect limited technical information such as:

  • device type
  • operating system
  • app version
  • authentication events
  • push notification tokens
  • notification delivery metadata
  • device identifiers used for push notification delivery
  • diagnostics and error logs
  • security-related metadata
  • website pages visited
  • referring websites or referral sources
  • landing pages
  • URL campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign
  • website interaction metadata reasonably necessary to understand how users discover Nyro and submit interest forms

Waitlist and Ambassador Applications

When you join the waitlist or apply to become a founding ambassador, we may collect:

  • city and country
  • running club or community information
  • social profile links you provide
  • estimated community reach
  • free-text application responses
  • attribution or referral information associated with the submission

2. Location Information

Nyro is designed around local running communities.

If you choose to use your current location, Nyro may process your current device location, including latitude and longitude, to help determine your city or area, discover nearby runs and clubs, improve local recommendations, and support location-related features.

Location access is optional.

Users may:

  • allow device location access
  • manually choose a city or area
  • decline location access and decide later

Users may revoke location permissions at any time through their device settings.

Nyro does not collect:

  • background location
  • continuous GPS tracking
  • movement history
  • always-on location monitoring

Where possible, we aim to minimize location collection and use only the information reasonably necessary to support local discovery features.

3. Public Content and Shareable Links

Some Nyro content may be publicly accessible.

Public pages, shared content, or invite links may be viewable by people outside Nyro and may be accessible without logging into the app.

Depending on future platform behavior, certain public content may also be discoverable through search engines or external sharing channels.

Please use care when posting information you choose to make public and avoid sharing information you would not want broadly visible.

  • understanding feature usage
  • measuring product and marketing performance

Resend

Used for:

  • transactional email delivery
  • account communications
  • application and interest-form notifications

Our current infrastructure includes services hosted in West EU (Ireland).

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and legal or operational requirements.

You may request account deletion through the app.

If you own clubs with other active members, you may need to transfer ownership before account deletion. If you are the only active member of a club you own, deleting your account may also delete that club and cancel future club runs.

When an account deletion request is processed, we aim to delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal, security, backup, fraud-prevention, moderation, and operational requirements.

Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for:

  • security monitoring
  • fraud prevention
  • backups and disaster recovery
  • legal compliance
  • dispute resolution
  • enforcement of platform rules
  • moderation and abuse prevention
  • platform integrity and safety

Safety, moderation, and abuse-prevention records may be retained for longer periods where reasonably necessary to investigate reports, enforce platform rules, protect users, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.

This may include reports submitted by users, moderation decisions, blocking records, and related safety investigations.
